LinOTP is an open-source solution for two-factor user authentication. Its modular design ensures easy scalability and the possibility to install the server part on a Linux server or as a virtual server. The LinOTP solution offers the possibility to store users in an LDAP directory (Microsoft AD, OpenLDAP, Novell eDirectory) and in an SQL database (MySQL, MariaDB, SQLite, PostgreSQL, Oracle, IBM DB2). A wide range of different tokens are supported for user authentication:
Even in the event of token loss, the LinOTP solution offers the allocation of a replacement token, which prevents misuse by system administrators. The solution has the ability to integrate with Windows and Linux login forms (GINA), authenticates users on network devices via the RADIUS protocol and on web applications via the SAML protocol. Encryption keys can be stored in dedicated security hardware modules, with integration via the PKCS11 protocol.
The LinOTP solution is managed via a web interface (administration and user part), a command line interface (CLI) or an application programming interface (API). A key feature of the LinOTP solution is the ability to concatenate log records when storing them in the database, which prevents changes to all existing records.
We recommend LinOTP to all companies that:
